Archaeopteryx fossil

Archaeopteryx. Cast of fossil remains of Archaeopteryx, a flying reptile with feathers. It was found in the fine-grained limestones of the late Jurassic period (195-135 million years ago) at Solenhofen, Bavaria. Archaeopteryx, seen as the link between reptiles and birds, had many of the features of a small dinosaur with the addition of feathers and combined reptilian and bird-like claws on its wings. It was crow-sized.
